Welcome to our office. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, our training is in the surgical management of problems related to the oral and facial regions. Our expertise includes surgery needed to correct congenital and acquired deformities of the facial bones, orthognatic surgery, TMJ surgery, reconstructive jaw surgery, surgery for the removal of tumors, surgical preparation of the mouth for dentures, dental implant reconstruction, surgical removal of impacted and non-restorable teeth (including wisdom teeth), and treatment of traumatic facial injuries.
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. This generally occurs between the ages of 17 and 25. When they align properly and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen. With an oral examination and x-rays of the mouth, we can evaluate the position of the wisdom teeth and predict if there are present or possible future problems. Studies have shown that early evaluation and treatment result in a superior outcome for the patient.
Dental implants are changing the way people with missing teeth live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Dental implants help you regain the ability to eat virtually anything. Patients with dental implants can smile with confidence knowing that their teeth appear natural and that normal facial contours will be preserved. With an average success rate of about 95%, we feel dental implants are often the best treatment option for replacing missing teeth.
