Fukae-cho is located in the southeastern part of Shimabara Peninsula, at the foot of Heiseishinzan Mountain, where there is good drainage.
It is famous for its long hours of sunshine, making it an ideal melon-growing area.
The Fukae green melon, a popular product during this season, is green-fleshed and sweet,
and is a representative melon of Nagasaki Prefecture as a taste of early summer.

Fukae green melons are large and vine-ripened, with a sugar content of over 14.5 degrees.
The flesh is soft and delicious and very easy to eat.
