About the Japanese community and exchange

I am planning to
stay in Hawaii for a short period of time, 2.3 months starting in August.

I plan to be alone, but
I was wondering if anyone knows of any gatherings of people in similar situations or
any Japanese communities or gatherings
that are open to Japanese people.

Or volunteer work, etc.

We would like to increase our communication with local people living in the area
We would like to hear if there are any places where we can go to interact with them.
