Meet at Kapiolani Park this Summer ! 15th Annual Ukulele Picnic Presents International ・ Ukulele Festival ・ Of ・ Hawaii July 27 ( Announces Performers and Schedule for Sat )

( From Honolulu ) The ukulele is the symbol of aloha and the official instrument of Hawaii. For more than 50 years, Roy & Kathy ・ Sakuma and her husband Roy ・ held the Ukulele Festival Hawaii to connect people around the world with the immeasurable power of the ukulele, but the festival closed its doors in 2022 with much regret from many fans. In 2024, on the advice of Roy & and Kathy ・ Sakuma, the "Ukulele Picnic," re-titled "International ・ Ukulele Festival ・ of ・ Hawaii," will be held on July 27, ( Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kapiolani Park, centered around the bandstand where the Ukulele Festival ・ of Hawaii was held for many years.

In addition to the bandstand, there will be another Diamond Head Stage on the large grounds to allow more ukulele players to perform. In addition, there will be booths from ukulele makers, ukulele stores, and ukulele schools in Hawaii, as well as food vendors offering chilled Chinese noodles, shave ice, sandwiches, boxed lunches, and andagi, making this a big event for everyone to enjoy.

We have chosen Billy ・ V, a well-known local ukulele player, to be the emcee for this event to bring ukulele fans from all over the world to Kapiolani Park and make it an event that will be loved by the community. The festival will be a celebration of the ukulele and its ability to bring love, joy, and smiles to people all over the world, and will also deepen international exchanges beyond language barriers. Ukulele Foundation ・ Of ・ About Hawaii
The Ukulele Foundation ・ of ・ Hawaii was founded in Honolulu in October 2007 by Kazuyuki Sekiguchi and other members with the goal of creating a "Ukulele Museum" where ukulele and Hawaiian music history can be learned and ukulele fans around the world can gather. The non-profit organization was founded in Honolulu in October 2007 by Kazuyuki Sekiguchi and other members. Currently, the organization hosts the International ・ Ukulele Contest and the International ・ Ukulele Festival, and is actively involved in promoting the ukulele and its wonderfulness around the world through events and creating opportunities for cultural exchange.
