In response to ongoing nationwide challenges in law enforcement recruitment, KPD has launched a new recruitment campaign that offers an exciting glimpse into what drives the men and women behind the badge. With 36 vacant police officer positions and 10 dispatcher openings, the department is actively recruiting individuals eager to make a positive, lasting impact.

From specialized units like traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, K-9, community relations, and forensics, the department offers many opportunities for growth and advancement. Starting salaries for police officers range from $76,000 to over $118,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
