Residents are encouraged to attend Mayor Richard Bissen’s Weekly Disaster Recovery Community Update Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in the downstairs social hall at Lahaina Civic Center.

State Insurance Commissioner Gordon Ito will be in attendance at the meeting. It will feature updates from Mike Renner of 4LEAF Inc., which has been contracted to operate the County of Maui Recovery Permit Center, and from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is conducting debris clearing.

Facilitated by the Mayor, representatives from county, state and federal agencies offer weekly updates that cover progress, schedule and frequently asked community questions as debris cleanup continues. Community meetings started in November.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the County of Maui’s Facebook page; no account is needed to view.
