*KPD seeks public’s assistance with 2010 homicide case*

LĪHUʻE – The Kauaʽi Police Department (KPD) renews its request to the public for information regarding a homicide that occurred on Jul. 3, 2010. This comes as authorities continue to pursue all leads that could advance the investigation.

On Jul. 3, 2010, the body of Amber Jackson, a 57-year-old woman from Kapa‘a, was discovered by a local pig hunter in a secluded wooded area in Keālia. Jackson had been reported missing on Jun. 23, 2010. A subsequent autopsy showed that she had died from blunt-force trauma to the head and had injuries consistent with an assault. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the case is still under investigation.

The Amber Jackson Justice Group (AJJG), formed by Jackson’s family and friends, continues to pursue answers for Jackson’s tragic death by working with various mainstream unsolved homicide media outlets. A popular podcast and television series called Unsolved Mysteries featured the 2010 unsolved murder of Amber Jackson. To access the Unsolved Mysteries podcast, please visit https://unsolved.com/podcasts/hawaiian-homicide/ [ https://unsolved.com/podcasts/hawaiian-homicide/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ].

KPD and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney continue to invest resources in solving the Amber Jackson homicide. “Our goal has always been to find and hold accountable the individual(s) responsible for Amber’s death. We believe that there is someone out there with information that could help lead to the apprehension of the killer(s). If you have any information that could help solve this tragic death, we encourage you to come forward and speak with investigators,” said Assistant Chief Kalani Ke.

The AJJG is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Jackson’s killer. Anyone with information regarding the disappearance or death of Amber Jackson is encouraged to contact the Kaua‘i Police Department at (808) 241-1711. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information by calling Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i at (808) 246-8300, submitting a tip at cskauai.org, or through the Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i P3 Tips Mobile App available for download on Android and Apple mobile devices.
