Overnight water service shutdown scheduled in Kilauea on Sept. 3-4

KILAUEA - The Department of Water and contractor, Goodfellow Bros., LLC. has scheduled an overnight water service shutdown on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4., weather permitting.  Water service will be turned off to Kalamania Road, Kalamania Place, the Anaina hou community park and customers located at 5-2719 Kuhio Highway in Kilauea to tie-in a new 12-inch mainline onto the existing system.

Customers located in the designated service areas are advised to prepare for the water service shutdown by taking the following steps: 


* Store water to meet your needs until water service can be safely restored. 
* Notify neighbors, family and friends of the water service shutdown. 
* Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that water heaters do not empty during the shutdown. 

An update will be provided if new information is received.  Additional notification to the service area is being sent via Kauai County Alerts.
