*New Kapa‘a Satellite DMV opens Jan. 6*

KAPA‘A – The Department of Finance, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has opened a new Satellite DMV on the island’s East Side with limited services available starting Monday, Jan. 6.

The Kapa‘a Satellite DMV is located at the Kapa‘a Armory, at 4750 Kahau Road.

“We are excited to announce the opening of our new Kapa‘a location, where our residents will now have another option for motor vehicle services,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “Mahalo to our Finance Department team for listening to the needs of our community and offering solutions that not only improve customer service but also utilizes technology to bring us into the future.”

The Kapa‘a Satellite DMV will provide the following services:


* Motor vehicle transactions; and
* Transactions for utility payments, bus passes, and tipping coupons.

Kapa‘a services will be by appointment only. No walk-in service or Kupuna Hour will be available at this location at this time.

Customers of the Kapa‘a Satellite DMV must check in for their scheduled appointment using their mobile device. The system will notify customers on their mobile device when a representative is ready, and will direct them to one of three service windows.

Appointment holders may check in for a scheduled appointment up to 15 minutes prior to their appointment time. If you are more than 5 minutes late, the appointment will be canceled.

At this time, the Kapa‘a Satellite DMV will only offer limited services. Customers seeking the following services should visit the Līhu‘e DMV location: driver license, state ID or CDL services, drivers permit and road testing, dealer/bank services, financial responsibility, and Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection (PMVI) support.

The Kapa‘a Satellite DMV will be open to appointment holders from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, except for state and federal holidays.

If you require multiple transactions, you will need to book multiple appointments.
