Ever since I can remember I decided to work in clothing. When I wasin high school, I went to Switzerland to study French. Afterreturning to Japan, my father was working in real estate, so Idecided to become a designer, partly out of filial piety. However,he could not forget his dream of fashion and went to Australia tostudy at a fashion college for a year. After returning to Japan, hestudied patterning techniques for two years at a clothing collegein Japan. After graduating from school, I did not find a job rightaway, but instead prepared to start my own fashion business inJapan. I decided to start a costume rental company for Japanese inHawaii.

When we asked our customers what they would be renting it for, welearned they would be using it to attend a wedding I found out thathe was going to use it to attend a wedding. When I immediately didan image search for "wedding procession", I couldn't find any nicepictures. I was surprised to find that many of them looked likegroup photos taken on an old overseas travel tour: the colorsdidn't match, the designs didn't match, the sizes didn't match, andso on. We immediately started renting muumuus for weddingattendees. There were also requests for the same pattern, so Idecided to increase production by finding someone who would produceoriginal garments based on the patterns I had made. I found someonewho was willing to take on the pattern as well, and we startedproducing 5 ・ 600 new original muumuus and original aloha shirts ayear.
