LĪHUʻE – The Kaua‘i Police Department (KPD) extends its gratitude to the community for providing information that led to the arrest of a credit card fraud suspect.

On Wednesday, Jul. 24, an individual made unauthorized charges using a stolen credit card at Walmart. Following a public appeal for assistance, KPD received numerous tips through Crime Stoppers, which helped identify the suspect as Elijah Stephens, a 44-year-old resident of Līhu‘e.

Stephens was arrested on Wednesday, Sep. 18 without incident for the offense of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Criminal Contempt of Court. His bail is set at $5,000.
