There was a press conference with Ige and Ann just now.
eb is going to end on 3/6. Many of us have been waiting a long time for the introduction of peuc2 thinking that we can move to eb when peuc2 runs out, but it was just announced that eb will end on 3/6.
I will run out of peuc balance in 2 more claims. I now wish I had APPLIED for eb if this was going to happen. Because the person who is getting eb already has an increased peuc2 balance. I'm kind of dumbfounded. I wonder what will happen next.
I hope biden's extend is decided soon, but if it is rejected, the future is bleak. 。。。。

you are absolutely right.
I am sure there are many people who have cancelled their EB and switched to Peuc.
I am grateful to Anne and the other people who work at ui, but
I am amazed at how much they change what they say every time they are interviewed.
I think this would not have happened if all claimants were treated in the same way, instead of making them choose between eb or peuc. If they had treated everyone the same instead of making the claimant choose between eb or peuc, this would not have happened.
Today's press conference was really an eye opener.

I got the date a bit wrong and deleted my original comment.

I chose PEUC2 because I was thinking ahead and didn't want to have to get a week's worth
I am anxious to hear that EB20 is ending.
I'm sure many people applied for EB20 and then cancelled and changed to PEUC2 ？
I hope President Biden's EXTEND will be decided by 3/13.

EB20 Program to End on March 6, 2021

Effective March 6, 2021, the Extended Benefits (EB20) program will end. On May 17, 2020, Hawaii met the criteria to begin the EB20 program, which provides up to 13 weeks of additional unemployment benefits to those who exhausted previous benefits. Call Center]

An important share has been received and is shared below. After you call a call center and an announcement is made, the selection is no longer a push type where you press "1", "2", or "3", but a voice type.

For example, for PEUC's ① number, the flow is to pronounce "one" in English. Even English speakers sometimes do not seem to catch the pronunciation well.

If they successfully catch the pronunciation, they play music all the way until the call center staff answers. some people have waited 30 minutes, others 2 hours.
