学生ビザ〜研修ビザへの切り替えについて

教えてください。
学生ビザをただいま持っているものですが、今後研修ビザに変更を考えています。研修先はハワイです。
カリフォルニア州とハワイ州は法律が違うので情報を収集したいです。
学生ビザ〜研修ビザ（Jビザ）に変更の場合どのような手続きになるのでしょうか？また、変更までかかる期間、申請費用など知っておられる方が居ましたら、教えてください。よろしくおねがいします。
