My daughter currently attends Central Union.
CUPS after two other preschools, and it is a great school compared to the others.
The growth over the past year is unmatched by any other school.
I believe that CUPS has helped my daughter get into almost all of the schools she applied to, including Punahou, Midpac, St. Andrews, HBA, Le Jardin, and others. However, I don't think that the Kinder exam is because of what preschool or what school she went to. They are looking at the child's personality and compatibility with the school and the attitude of the parents towards the child. Also, at the age of Kinder, I felt that more than the academic level, they are looking at the human ability, or basic human qualities at that age.
In that sense, I feel that CUPS has considerably developed the potential that my child has.

Incidentally, the rate of advancement at St. Clements and Hana Hau'oli also seems to be changing from what it used to be.
Because when the admins of Punahou and Iolani change, the system inevitably changes as well.

I had a child attend Central Union, and many children from Central Union have been admitted to Punahou ・ Iolani. Of course, there are some children who unfortunately didn't have a chance.

I think they did a good job academically at Central Union, they took care of the kids so they didn't get nervous about the exams, and they did a very good job with the exams. I think that the result on the day of the exam depends on whether or not we prepared for the exam, but most importantly, whether or not we were able to create an environment where the children were able to perform at their best on the day of the exam.

Also, as others have written, I think Central Union is a great school where kids enjoy going every day.

My younger child is now at Central Union and will be graduating soon. My older child also graduated last year.
The school is, as you said, a very nobile preschool for children to play and have fun ！

However, in the last 3-4 years, the percentage of students from Central Union going to Punahou or Iolani has decreased dramatically.
It is also true that parents of graduates are comprehnding.

The exam is a real edge, but as those of you who graduated from Central Union this year know,
there may or may not be two students from each class who pass Punahou. Iolani is almost never there. Many of the waitlist are also in the 100's or low 100's and will probably not get acceptance letters, including my son.
We were accepted to Midpac and Le Jardin, so we will go to one of them, but
Last year with my older son and again this year, there are
a lot of kids going to Public Kinder who didn't get into any of the other schools because of the entrance exams. Maybe half or more than half.

Of course, the test is a factor, but the percentage of students from Central Union going to Punahou and Iolani kinder is very low
compared to 5 years ago.
If you are not concerned about the results of the entrance exam, Central Union is a very fun preschool for children ！.

Why I sent both of my children to Central Union, because
location and DropOff /PickUp were better at the same school for both of them （ last year ） and
both to my first choice Montessori Community School. I couldn't get in, and even at age 4, I tried to transfer to two schools, Montessori and Hana Hau'oli, but still couldn't get in.
These two schools have over 95% of their graduates being accepted to Punahou and Iolani.
If you are interested in Punahou or Iolani, both schools take a small number of students, so it is very difficult to get in, but
if you get in, the acceptance rate is over 95% ！
