I am posting again below because I know there are people who are applying for EB20 for the first time without having had any PEUC experience.

When the account balance becomes "zero", the account balance section will display the following. When you see this, it is time to apply for EB20.
↓
Your benefit year ends ●/●/2021. As of ●/●/2020 you have been paid $ ●● and have a balance of $ 0 available. When the account balance is "exhausted", the account balance will be displayed as follows. When this is displayed, it is time to apply for EB20.
↓
The maximum benefits on your claim have been exhausted.

PS:
After successfully completing your EB20 application, your account balance will change to the following: If you did not receive the confirmation number for your EB20 application via email, please check the glitch （ System error ）, so be sure to call the UI office to double check that your EB20 application was submitted properly.

The benefit year ends ●/●/2021 and is pending monetary determination.

（ 2 ） Please refer to #419 in this topic for how to apply for Claim a Certification for the week after you have been backdated.

When applying for Claim a Certification for a week after the due date of the application, including the backdated portion, please follow the steps in #419. For example, for the week ending December 19, the due date is Saturday, December 26 （ ）. If you wish to file a Claim a Certification for the week ending December 19 after the 26th, you must file a Reactivate a Claim in advance.

This may have happened to some of you when you applied for PEUC, but it is happening to many of us when we apply for EB20.

After completing the EB20 application, when you apply for Claim a Certification and enter the date in the "Please enter the week-ending being claimed" section, the following message may appear.
↓
Your maximum benefit amount has already been paid.

This means that you cannot file a Claim a Certification because your account balance has run out.

In this case, the solution in the early PEUC season was to immediately call or e-mail to request a backdate and file a Claim a Certification without waiting for approval, but mid-season the UI office changed the line to "wait until approved" for such cases. However, in the middle of the season, the UI office seems to have changed the line to "wait until approval" for such cases.

Therefore, they will wait until EB20 is approved and the new balance is in place before filing a Claim a Certifiction. Also, if you want to file a Claim a Certification after the deadline, you will need to file a Reactivate a Claim in advance.

If you are still unable to file a Claim a Certification after the new balance, please contact the UI office as there may be a glitch.

For those of you who still have PEUC account balances after January,
and are likely to be waiting for PEUC approval after January,

today we received an official response from UI office officials on how to apply for EB20 in your situation.

However, we have also discussed this with the responsible team, and as you are aware, The Second Stimulus Package being considered by the White House includes a "PEUC 10-11 week extension".

The White House will make a formal announcement soon after the vote.

Now that this vote is not yet over, we will let you know what the official response from the UI office is, and if the "PEUC 10-11 week extension" is cancelled, the UI office will also have to change the rules regarding EB20.

This will result in confusion for everyone, and we will update this topic as soon as the contents of The Second Stimulus Package are officially decided.
