Please let me know if you have recently been in the process of renewing your green card and it expired and you have successfully returned from an overseas trip from the US without a new card yet, or if you know more about this.
I went through the green card renewal process this past January and also went to get my fingerprints taken. My original card has already expired.
I think I can go to Japan, but will I be able to come back to Hawaii without any problem? Do I need to do anything to leave the US ？
I need to buy a plane ticket next week, so if someone could give me the right information, that would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

My nephew, a college student from Japan, will be staying with us until the end of September
He has been playing soccer since elementary school and is looking for a place to volunteer as a kids soccer coach assistant while in Hawaii

I would appreciate any wisdom or experience you may have in advising me about moving from Hawaii to the Mainland.

For various reasons, I need to move from Hawaii to the Mainland, but since I am temporarily out of Hawaii, I am not likely to be able to make the various arrangements myself.
