JTB at Ala Moana SC is
on the ocean side of the former Shiroki-ya. This is not where the Japanese tours go,
it is the glassed-in counter of JTB USA.

I called and made my rail pass reservations before I went.

Pass, what you want to confirm is the name of the GC or something like that ？
If that's what you mean, I'll write down my example that might be helpful.
The GC's name is American surname, and the American surname is in brackets in the passport, but
this does not mean that the passport and GC are an exact match, so I need other proof documents. So you need to get a copy of your notification of residence or
a certificate of residence from the consulate. I got a copy of the notification, which is free of charge.
If your GC has the same surname as your passport, you can use it as it is, but the date of resident since must be more than 10 years ago.
Likewise, the date of notification of residence must also be more than 10 years old.
If the date of notification of residence in Hawaii is less than 10 years old, the JR Pass cannot be used.
If you lived in the U.S. mainland before Hawaii, it is difficult to use the JR Pass.
You have to check with the place where you submitted the notification before to see if they will issue the pass for that time.
I also don't know if the consulate in Hawaii will give you a combined total for the previous one. If so,
you would have to ask the consulate.

By the way, I bought mine online at IACE. I had plenty of time, so I used USPS shipping.
The difference in the amount of money for the pass itself is not enough to bother me. ？
JTB has a password from the beginning, IACE has an additional $10 for the number of passes
at the end of the application process. \I don't know about JTB, but IACE comes with an extra ballpoint pen. It is easy to write with it ．

I'd like to add, I believe the fees are the same as IACE and JTB. Just because it's an online order mailed
doesn't mean the fee is higher, but the postage is. That's the only difference. If you compare the sites, you can see to some extent that the fee is about $10 for both.

Yesterday I bought a Japan Rail Pass at HIS in Ala Moana SS.
I first tried to buy it online from IACE Travel, but when I tried to buy it together, I got an error message even though I wanted two tickets, one for me Japanese and one for my husband （ American ）. Maybe it's because we have different statuses ？ I decided not to apply for them separately because it's too much trouble. On that point, at HIS, the staff is right in front of you, so whether you are Japanese or a gaijin, they can make sure that your name is correct and you can make the purchase.
Like Halo, my passport has my American family name in parentheses, but it is slightly different from my green card, so I got a copy of my residence card from the consulate. They also confirmed this.
The amount was also one person ＄ 338. I didn't have to pay any fees or postage, so in the end it was probably cheaper than IACE Travel.
It was very convenient to buy the tickets right away because it was not crowded in the evening.
