We also wanted to get our two sons into MCS, so we took it at ages 2 and 3.
We put them both on the wait list, but they didn't come.
This year, my younger son took Kinder again and failed miserably.
My two children failed MCS miserably, and I sent them to Central Union for pre and from Kinder to public elementary. We did not even make it through the exam, but every time we visited and asked questions, MCS was very nice to the school staff and teachers.
I was disappointed with both of my children, but there is no doubt
that it is a wonderful school that is very committed to its school, educational policies, and academics. I see that it was 15 times this year. It's a huge turnout, but it's a popular school, so it's understandable.

My child did not get into MCS, but the kids seemed to have fun at Central Union.
Parents are more worried about the entrance exam than their children.

I don't know if you need my comment, since I didn't get in at all, but I have been in contact with the school many times, and
I was so impressed with the school that I still think it is a great school where my child will receive a really good education. If your child is 3 years old now, you have several chances to take the entrance exam, so by all means, please do your best.

My mom's friend's son was accepted
to the 3 year old class starting this August ！
He is a very childlike boy, always smiling.
Mom is also a lovely, bright and sociable mom.

Nice to meet you. I also took the 3 year old class to send my daughter there, but it didn't work out. She is now in Central Union and started this month.
I will be submitting another application in September for the 4 year old class. Like Topy, I attended a school information session in July.
I am sure it was the same meeting and I was one of the people there who were exclaiming 15 times. lol
I know a sibling who did not get into Montessori Community School at 2, 3 or 4 years old and joined Le Jardin Academy and
was transferred to Montessori Community School.
He said that his academic ability, personality, and a kind of wisdom in life improved dramatically.
I talked to someone in the same class who has been attending the school since the age of 3.
It seems that from the 3 year old class, the school is already offering a diverse education in science, environment, geography, and more.
They said that the school respects their individuality and makes the most of their strengths, and yet their academic ability has improved considerably.
Currently, her older child has graduated from Montessori Community School and has been accepted to both Punahou and Iolani and attends Punahou.
She was accepted without a tutor.

I will try again to give my daughter an environment where she can learn many things with respect to her individuality. Let's do our best!

I visited Central Union yesterday and was told that for the last 3 years, if they wait until the last round of notification at the end of June or the first week of July, they have all been able to pass They said that this is a way to fill vacancies several times (6-7 times) as the first round of applicants are passed on to other schools with acceptance notices from other schools. The result is that in the last three years, all applicants have been notified of their acceptance. As a result, they have been able to notify everyone of their acceptance for the last 3 years, and we think it would be a good stopgap school for Montessori Community, St. Clements, and Unity School.
Central Union seems to be a good environment and location ！

I also took the Montessori Community test when my son was 3 years old, but my waitlist did not come around ！
I am now in Central Union like others.
Our first choice was Montessori Community, second choice was St. Clements, third choice was Midpac, and fourth choice was Central Union.
My third choice was St. Clement's, my third choice was Midpac, and my fourth choice was Central Union.
I am still not satisfied with Central Union, but my neighbor was accepted to Montessori Community, and I was impressed by the fact that the school emphasizes intellectual development and independence, values individuality, and does not force children to act in a group.
I still think that Central Union is a good place for everyone to have fun and play ！ but I feel that it is lacking in the academic aspect.
I again feel that I would like to place my son in a Montessori community that values his individuality while also developing him academically to the level of Punahou and Iolani.

Today is the first day to apply ！
It will be a long time until the announcement of acceptance, but I am encouraged to know that my son is not the only one who did not get into Montessori Community because it is a difficult school to get into and that there are others in the same situation ！ Good luck with your entrance exams

filling out an application for MCS. I am filling out my MCS application right now.
Like you, I took the MCS exam at ages 2 and 3 and was not accepted
and am attending Central Union.

I was just filling out the application and checking tuition
and was wondering if tuition includes lunch and snacks? I would like to know if anyone knows.　15x … That's a terrific multiplier ….

I am sending my child to MCS.
Tuition does not include lunch.
It is roughly $ 200/month and can be added as an OPTION.

My son has been attending MCS since he was 3 and is now a Kinder. I feel that he is being nurtured in a way that he cannot experience in a regular school, and that he is developing a spirit of respect, manners, and respect for the environment and for other things on the inside. Every day I feel that the teachers are taking good care of the children and educating them based on a thorough understanding of their individual needs. The teachers and parents meet with each other every few months to set goals, and they also send me pictures of the daily class activities. I feel that my son is growing daily, acquiring knowledge, experiences, and experiences so well that I am amazed. I have to admit that we received an acceptance letter to Punahou School for Kinder, but after much thought, we would like to continue him at MCS Elementary and then reapply for the middle school, respecting his abilities, personality, and vision for the future.

Thank you ！ I see that it is not included in tuition. And it is nice to hear about the school from someone whose child is currently attending. I knew it was such a good education that you turned down Punahou from Kinder.
I'm not worried about it, as almost 100% of our graduates who spent their Elementary at a Montessori community school are attending Punahou or Iolani from the Middle.

Two of our children attended MCS from class at age 2, and we applied to another private school in Kinder.

I believe that MCS has a very high ratio of applicants due to the small number of students.

When I took the test for my older child, I received a letter of recommendation from a current family and from a board member. 2 year old classes are especially difficult to get into without connections, but research and networking in advance is also important.

My child attended MCS until two years ago.
The school has developed my child's academic ability, comprehension, personality, and cooperation to an amazing degree.
The school has been very good at developing the best of each individual.
As a result, I was able to pass both Iolani and Punahou.
Eight of the 11 students in my class went to Punahou, two to Iolani, and the other two to the top residential school in Boston.
Punahou had 9 students take the test and all were accepted.
MCS is quite difficult because admission is really small, but
if you get in, you don't have to worry about your future.
The families of the students are all quite high class
I could send my child there with peace of mind.
The 3 year old class is only a supplement to the 2 year old class, so
only 6-8 students are admitted each year.
The 4 year old class is about the same because it is a supplemental class only.
Kinder has a better chance, because there are a lot of transfers from MCS preschool to Punahou and Iolani kinder, so they can make up for the lost students.
I really recommend this school.

There are slots available for 4 year olds ！ My second son was placed at MCS at age 4 because some kids move from MCS to Hana Hau'oli at age 4. I think Kinder has a better chance because some kids go from MCS to Iolani or Punahou. On a personal note, my oldest son is now a middle at Punahou, and I am astounded by the number of his classmates who moved from other schools last year and this year, and by the high academic level of those from Hana Hau'oli and MCS. My oldest son has been in Punahou since Kinder, and the children from Hana Hau'oli and MCS are at an even higher level than those who have studied at Punahou for a long time. In fact, many of the students from Punahou who go on to Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, etc. are from Hana Hau'oli and MCS. Of course, the children who grew up in Punahou have evolved into high-level universities as well, but those from Hana Hau'oli and MCS are among the best in Punahou from the moment they enter the school.

Even if they are admitted to Punahou, their destinations depend on how well they can keep up with the academic abilities of Punahou students, and there is a clear difference between the Punahou students and those from the public schools.

I would like to comment that it is important to think ahead when choosing a school, not only MCS.

My son went to Punahou from Middle after graduating from MCS, and this August he started Harvard University.
At MCS, he learned a lot of things such as intellectual education, globalization, manners, etc., and most importantly, he developed his independence, imagination, achievement, individuality, and self-judgment.
The environment where students can find what they are interested in and what they want to do by themselves and are allowed to do it with respect is an educational spirit and method that can only be acquired at an early age, and it is not like other pre or elementary schools where "everyone does the same activities together. The school is unique in that it is not a place where "everyone does the same activities together. This seems to only be acquired at a very young age, and I felt it affected his future level of learning very much.
I have never told my son to "study ！."
He has developed the ability to study while maintaining interest and enjoying himself.
MCS was a great school.
All the students are happy and academically strong, and I am very grateful to my classmates' families, teachers and school.
