A friend of mine in another state didn't seem to have corona until recently and used fingerprints and photos from the last 10 years.
Is biometrics common in Hawaii ？?

We went through the renewal process right after the beginning of February.
Biometrics said they would contact us in 4-5 months when we had an appointment, so we kept waiting.
We finally heard from them last week and they said the end of July. It has been a long road for us.
Still 4 weeks to go until completion....
I am glad to see that the situation is improving, though I wonder if the people who applied first are being put off.

I applied online 6/8.
I received two letters on 6/15, one （ I-797 ） says "this letter is valid for 12 months even if you don't receive your green card" and the other （ I-797C ） says "no biometrics required but no refund of fees It said, "No biometrics required, but no refund of fees".　
I checked the status online and it was "Card produced".
I received my green card successfully on 6/18.

I received my green card in 10 days after I applied.
I received my green card in 10 days after I applied, but it may be because I missed the expiration date by accident and applied after the expiration date.

Your information has been very helpful.
I guess the difference between applying in the same Hawaii and having biometrics with or without biometrics for a difference of a few months is the difference in the Corona Disaster. I was really relieved to know that even if I don't receive the card, the letter that will be mailed to me will be valid for 12 months.
