Can I use my passport as a Japanese ID? I don't have any family in Japan, so I don't have an address where I can register.

I lived in Japan, so I have a renewed driver's license with a Japanese address.
Please check with your cell phone store to see if your Japanese passport will work as a Japanese ID.
I told them honestly when I bought my cell phone that I do not reside in Japan, so I do not receive any mail.
Nowadays, paperless is more appreciated.

When I stayed at the Sheraton in Waikiki last month, I asked if I could send my luggage and the hotel said send it to arrive 3 days before check-in or later. They asked me how big it was and what was in it and said if it was too big, they couldn't do it. I was told never to send it before 3 days before check-in.

When you say give to a family member's account, do you mean refund the money that was advanced to the family member? If so, how about using Venmo, etc., and registering the Venmo debit account with your main CPB?

When I transfer money between my accounts, even between different banks, my bank does not charge any fees. The only time I incur a fee is when I transfer money to an account in another name （ I use Wire Transfer, which is also usually $30 per transfer, but my bank reimburses me if I maintain the account for several years.

I opened accounts with various banks in Hawaii, but found them inconvenient due to frequent small fees, so I now only use Territorial. Here, both checking and saving are small, but interest is paid. If I need to move money between friends or family, I use Paypal, Paypal should not charge a fee if it is between family and friends.

I'm considering GE because I live in a condo in Waikiki and the school in my school district is Jefferson and I haven't heard good things.
I have to give her GE the month after next, but I'm not sure how to choose a school. I think my daughter will probably need ESL classes. She understands and speaks English, but her first language is Japanese.
In terms of academics, I'm still thinking Waislae, Wilson, Jefferson, and Royal, but not for now.

Waikiki Elementary is close, but I have seen many Japanese people there, so I would prefer a less Japanese environment for my daughter who needs ESL.

There are kids who take Punahou and Iolani from Public every year, but as your neighbor said, there is really only one or two kids from each school who get accepted from Public.
The middle test, the SSAT, is not up to par with what is taught at Public. That means that Punahou and Iolani are already being taught that level of content study.
The only way to take the test from public is to start tutoring at least a year in advance. It is up to 2 years ahead of what is taught in school plus 2 years.
Look up the details of the SSAT, which is given up to the 8th grade.

No one from Manoa, Waikiki, Kahala, or Nuuanu passed this year. One person from Noelani passed Iolani and one from Hokulani passed Punahou.
In the middle, private kids from Hana Hau'oli, Rujardin, and Midpak take most of the Punahou and Iolani recruiting slots.
The same jiu-jitsu student as my son entered Punahou from middle two years ago from Hana Hau'oli, but his grades are below average at Punahou.
Hana Hau'oli is an elementary school for fairly good kids, but I think Punahou and Iolani have such high standards.
And Punahou seems to have 800 applicants for a quota of only 80 or so. Well, I think most of them are cut off by the SSAT passing criteria.
My child is also applying to Punahou and Iolani middle school this year from a private school, but I don't think he will get in based on the SSAT results. 😭
