I rented a storage unit in Kakaako, not because I was moving
but because my house was too small.
However, I was informed that the business was closing while I was back home for 2 months, so I rented another place on short notice, but it was very difficult to move my stuff after returning to Hawaii. I just want you to know that it happens. The place we are renting is air-conditioned, so pests and such are not a problem.

We had to leave our car at Honolulu Auto (car rental agency), but
it is not cheap because of parking fee + management fee.
However, we live in a house with an uncovered garage, so if the car is parked all the time, we know we are not home, and we have to worry about the battery, so it was good to leave the car with them.
